(01/07/03/)Entry No.-5."Golf with Angels"
I believe in God, I believe that He Loves each and every one of us and I
believe in His Divine Providence. I believe that He also endowed us with a rational mind and a FREE WILL! Unfortunately, we
sometimes proceed along the avenues of our lives seemingly unconscious of these facts. We misuse these gifts in the sense
that when our mind tells us we can attain a goal, we proceed unmindful of God or sometimes in mindful thought we hear our
ego say:" I can handle this... why bother God... let Him alone, leave Him out of it." Or on the other hand when our mind
tells us we cannot attain a goal, we again, too often, don't remember Him and very quickly we give up...sometimes not even
trying! At times, however, even when we do think of Him, we hear our anguished spirit say :" This cannot be done...this is
hopeless...not even God can Help me!" Although not always successful,I try to avoid these pitfalls by reminding myself
that ultimately and actually, our goals are attained by the grace of God working through us empowering us with life and inspiration...to
aspire without limit...to attain Heaven! So it is with every aspect of our lives...including golf! God indeed does answer
every prayer. The results are not always what we expect...yes, but I am glad that God does say no sometimes. Over the years,
I have come to realize and accept that He does love us and in His Infinite Wisdom, He knows what is good for us better than
we do ourselves. When we place ourselves in God's care there may be pain and hardship but never failure...only a detour towards
some greater good! Life is truly a celebration of our trust in His Love for us and for His being precisely who He is our Father
and our God! I remember how during the NCAA (Basketball) games in Manila, Whenever my school had an important game to play...specially
the ones against Ateneo, the Jesuit school, the good Christian Brothers of De La Salle would call on us to pray the rosary
and ask the Blessed Virgin Mary to help and let us win the game! Although we won most we didn't win all the games. She did
not want to spoil us! Good days, hard days do as the angels do, always rejoice in the Lord and enjoy life...your
golf game too!
